NurPhoto Pics Of The Year - 2019
People dressed in WWII/Battle of Normady uniforms seen during the Parade of Liberation in the streets of Granville, a part of many events of the Operation Piper Cobra, on August 3, 2019, in Granville, Normandy, France. On June 6, 1944, General Dwight D. EISENHOWER, Commander-in-Chief Allied Commander (Chief of Staff to Supreme Allied Commander), nicknamed 'Ike', launched the D-DAY Operations, the beginning of the Battle of Normandy. On August 19, 1944 he installed his headquarters until September, the Suppression Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF) in Jullouville, near Granville. All Allied Generals of the Battle of Normandy passed by Jullouville (Patton, Bradley, De Gaulle ...). Several events have been scheduled to commemorate 1944 events and pay tribute to the Liberators.
