Several thousand activists tried to blockade the Garzweiler open-pit mine with civil unrest on June 22, 2019. Several demonstrations organized by the group "Ende Gelände" tried to disrupt the mining process by flooding the pit mine with activists. The red demonstration started in the morning near Keyenberg (North Rhine Westphalia, Germany).
