The Afrikaans speaking labourers of mixed decent working on Cape wine farms are some of the only remaining historic elements present in an increasingly corporate industry with little time on the sweat associated with production. This minority community is known for its sharp humor and resilience, despite being marginalised during political dialogue and facing issues such as widespread fetal alcohol syndrome, forced evictions and little empowerment.
