General Meeting And Occupation Of BlackRock's Head Office By The Strikers In Paris
Striking railway workers at the Gare de Lyon railway station lit red smoke and threw counterfeit banknotes into the lobby of the BlackRock France building in a surprise action where they temporarily invaded the headquarters on Tuesday, 7 January 2019. Around 200 strikers from SNCF and RATP invaded the Paris headquarters of asset manager BlackRock to award it "a medal of dishonour" and demand the withdrawal of the government's pension reform project. After a General Assembly (GA) at Gare de Lyon station in Paris, railway workers brought a large sign with a "medal of dishonour" awarded to BlackRock, referring to the Legion of Honour awarded on 1 January to Jean-François Cirelli, President of the French branch of BlackRock.
