8th Nationwide Protest Against Macron' Planned Retirement Reform In Toulouse
People from universities protest also against the LPPR (Multi annual programmation law for research). Thousands of protesters demonstrated in Toulouse for the 8th demonstration called by nearly all trade unions (CGT, SUD, UNL, UNEF, FO, CFE-CGC, etc.). Protesters demand the withdrawal of the new reform of retirement (age, pension, conditions, etc.). Macron's governement proposes a change from a pay-as-you-go pension system to a system by points (capitalization). The French government also want an unification of all pension systems in France (except for policemen, military, congressmen, senators, ministers). Protesters occupied briefly the big store Galeries Lafayette in Toulouse, France on January 29th 2020. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
