Honorary Citizenship Of Palermo For Rescue Crew

This afternoon at Palazzo della Aquile, Mayor Leoluca Orlando has given honorary citizenship of the city to the crews of three boats who have committed themselves to the rescue of migrants in the Mediterranean. The citizenship was awarded to the Captain Carlo Giarratano, the Owner Gaspare Giarratano and the crew of the motorboat "Accursio Giarratano" who interrupted the fishing operations to rescue some shipwrecked, to the Captain of the ship "Mare Jonio", Pietro Marrone and all the crew of the same ship to that of the "Sea Watch" engaged in the monitoring and rescue of migrants and shipwrecked.
