Amsterdam is equipped with an wide network of cycle-paths, so safe and comfortable that even toddlers and elderly people use bikes as the easiest mode of transport. Bikes are commonly used in other cities such as The Hague and Rotterdam. Gasoline and diesel fueled cars and motorcycles will be banned from Amsterdam from 2030 in an effort to clean up the city's air, the Dutch capital's council said in 2019.
