International Women's Day Demonstrations In Osorno
Osorno, Chile. 8 march 2020. In the photograph the Apostolic Nuncio Alberto Ortega.The enthronement ceremony of the Franciscan Bishop Jorge Concha Cayuqueo was held at the Osorno Cathedral. Bishop Concha replaces the resigned Bishop Juan Barros accused of covering up the priest Fernando Karadima dismissed for life for sexual abuse against minors. In the ceremony, priests, deacons and bishops participated. On the outskirts of the cathedral hundreds of women protested during the commemoration of Women's Day while the police surrounded the place. The protesters carried out the performance of the collective Theses and chanted slogans against the police, the government of Sebastián Piñera and the church in Osorno, Chile.
