Poland Reports 17 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases

Polish Minister of Health Lukasz Szumowski admitted new cases of people infected with the Coronavirus would emerge quickly after only 17 cases had already been confirmed as of March 10, 2020. The hospital in Zielona Gora where the first confirmed case of the virus was reported confirmed a shortage of medical supplies for proper treatment of new cases. Cases of people infected with Coronavirus in Poland is exposing a long runnig deficit in government health care spending especially after President Andrzej Duda recenlty signed a controversial bill to extend government funding of the Polish TVP teleivisoin channel with more than PLN 2 billion after it was revealed this money would otherwise fund oncology care.
