Coronavirus Pandemic In London

A street sweeper walks across a near-deserted Lisle Street in Chinatown in London, England, on April 8, 2020. With the country not predicted to reach its covid-19 coronavirus 'peak' for another week or more, the current lockdown conditions in place across the UK are widely expected to be extended in the coming days beyond the looming end, next Monday, of the three-week period of restrictions that was initially imposed. The matter is reportedly set to be addressed by Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab at Thursday's daily press conference. Raab is presently deputising for Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who tested positive for covid-19 last month and is currently in intensive care at St Thomas' Hospital in London. Across the UK, meanwhile, 60,733 people have now tested positive for the coronavirus, with 7,097 having died. (Photo by David Cliff/NurPhoto)
