Autopsy Of Terrorist Members Shot Dead In Central Sulawesi
Armed police stand guard in front of the mortuary of Bhayangkara Hospital, Palu City, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia on April 16, 2020. The police conducted an autopsy to confirm the identities of two members of Poso Timur Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) who were shot dead after trying to seize police weapons on duty at one of the banks in Poso District, Central Sulawesi Province on April 15, 2020. Local security authorities formed a security task force coded as Operation Tinombala which was tasked with hunting dozens of MIT members hiding in the forests and mountains. Since the communal conflict occurred in the area in 1998-2008 acts of terrorism have continued to occur. The militant group continues to try to recruit new members to perpetuate their struggle.
