Carnations are left by workers of the Penha de França community council in mailboxes to commemorate the end of the dictatorship, in Lisbon, 25 April 2020. Workers of the Penha de França Community Council in Lisbon, delivering carnations to commemorate the end of the dictatorship, April 25, 2020. With the country still in a state of emergency due to COVID-19 and subject to a general duty of remembrance, the 46th anniversary of April 25 will be celebrated mainly in every Portuguese home. The organizations in charge of celebrating the date of the end of the dictatorship asked citizens to celebrate this day from home. Community councils implemented leaving carnations in the mailboxes of houses and buildings to motivate people not to forget this historical date. (Photo by Jorge Mantilla/NurPhoto)
