Lockheart Tea Estate In Kerala, India
Tea plants seen growing along the hills of the Lockheart Tea Estate in Devikulam, Idukki, Kerala, India. Tea is one of the main crops in this valley of around 5400 hectares. It is exported all over the world and Kerala is the second largest production of tea in India after Darjeeling. The Lockhart Estate is one of the earliest tea plantations in the High Range (Munnar) and was established by Baron John Von Rosenberg and his son, Baron George Otto Von Rosenberg in the year 1879.
