Coronavirus Economic Impacts In Istanbul, Turkey

On 5 May, 2020, residents of Istanbul, the center of the Covid-19 pandemic in Turkey, wore face masks as they shopped in the historic Eminonu district, where many stores remain closed due to restrictions imposed to stem the spread of coronavirus. Such precautions are taking a heavy toll on the Turkish economy and the Turkish lira, which fell to it's lowest value since the financial crisis this week.
