Human Right Protest In Toulouse

As the 31 meters 'Louise-Michel' ship, chartered by artist Banksy is stranded in the Mediterranean Sea with 219 refugees on board, the NGO SOS Mediterranee organized a die-in in Toulouse to symbolize the 34 361 (last updated on June 20th 2018) migrants dead in the Mediterranean sea. They also wanted to raise awareness about the Ocean Viking 2 blocked in an Italian port for several months. Other ships are stranded at sea with refugees on board such as the 'SEA Watch 4' with 200 migrants or the crude carrier 'Maersk Etienne' with 27 refugees. Meanwhile, the EU agency Frontex (coastguards and borderguards, migration control), said to be a 'search and rescue maritime agency' in any case of distress at sea, don't intervene. Frontex has seen its budget multiplied by 54 times in less than 15 years. In Toulouse, France on August 29th 2020. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
