New Refugee Camp On Lesbos Island In Greece

New refugee camp in Kara Tepe or Mavrovouni location between Mytilene city the capital of the island( Mitilini ) and Moria, on a former military camp, has been created in a few days after the fire that destroyed completely Moria Refugee Camp that was a first reception and registration center for asylum seekers one of the largest in Europe. The army along with contractors are building the new camp and setting up the tents and facilities of this new facility. Until now about 5000 refugee and migrants have been moved from the roadside where they sleep in makeshift tents towards the new camp of Lesbos island in Greece. Most of the people are from Afghanistan or Subsaharan countries in Africa. There is a specific area with tents for those who are positive in Covid-19 Coronavirus and as per today (18.09.2020), 135 people have been diagnosed positive in the camp, as everyone is being tested before entering the camp.
