Antifa And Anti-Golden Dawn Demonstrators Rally In Thessaloniki

Thousands of Antifa and anti-Golden Dawn demonstrators including university students, schools, labor unions, leftists, Antifa groups and many other democratic organizations gathered for the rally in Thessaloniki city on Wednesday 7 October 2020 to await the verdict of the Golden Dawn Trial and celebrating the result afterwards while marching in the city center, a landmark verdict in Greece's highest-profile political trial in decades in the courts of Athens. The neo-fascist and ultra-nationalist party Golden Dawn found to be guilty of running a criminal organization targeting left-wing people and migrants. Thousands of Greek citizens demonstrated on the roads of Athens and Thessaloniki, with banners "They are not innocent", "Nazis out", "Nazi in Prison", "Life Terms to the murderers" and "Justice for the murder of Pavlos Fyssas". Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and The Country's president Katerina Sakellaropoulou made a public statement about the trial's result. (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
