Detroit Will Breathe Marches To Call For Justice For Local Victims Of Police Violence
An armored protestor awaits the start of the march. On Friday, October 9, 2020 Detroit Will Breathe marched through the streets of Southwest Detroit to demand for charges to be dropped and for police accountability for the citizens who were met with violence at the hands of the Detroit Police Department when filming and asking for badge numbers during an arrest that occurred on the evening of September 26th. As the initial detainee was being tased, maced, and punched repeatedly near Livernois and Otis, Darius Bell requested officer names and badge numbers as Darrmial Romanda-Lamar filmed the incident on their phone. Officers soon turned their attention to Darius and Darrmial, detaining them as well. (Photo by Adam J. Dewey/NurPhoto)
