The Great Mosque of Algiers was designed by the German architectural firm KSP Juergen Engel Architekten and engineers from Krebs und Kiefer International and built by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC). The mosque, considered one of the largest mosques in the world and home to the tallest minaret in the world, will open for prayer on Thursday on the occasion of Al-Mouled Al-Nabawy and will be officially inaugurated on November 1, the 66th anniversary of the Algerian revolution against France.
