March Against A New Blanquer's Bill Which Will Prohibit Teaching At Home
Women hold placards: 'Long life to teaching diversity' (left) and 'you'll not lockdown our thoughts'. Parents and children protest against the bill presented by J.-M. Blanquer, Minister of Education, so-called 'Law for the stenghtening of the Republican principles'. This bill intends to forbid school at home or family instruction except for children critically ill. The right to instruct in the family is a right in France since the XIX century. Nearly 1% of pupils are instructed at home. This bill also plans to make school mandatory for 3yo children. The French governement says the bill is necessary for avoiding the radicalization of muslim children if they are instructed in their family. Toulouse. France. November 21th 2020.
