Mount Sinabung Volcano Erupts

More than 2,700 people have been evacuated from their homes are living in a radius of 7 kilometers (4 miles) south and southeast of the crater of the volcano after Indonesia threatens to increase in Sumatra, Indonesia on June 4 following a sharp rise in volcanic activity, an official said. Sinabung alert was raised to the highest levels of government fear that the growing lava dome could collapse at any moment. Mount Sinabung has erupted intermittently since late 2013. Sixteen people were killed and tens of thousands of people displaced during the early period of intense eruptions last year.
