Protest Against Police Brutality In Tunis

Young protesters stand on a wall shout anti government slogans next to security forces members who prevent them from demonstrating in front of the building of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) (Tunisian Parliament) in Bardo. Dozens of young people from the tough neighborhood of Hay Ettadhamen, which is one of the most populated cities in Tunis, took to the streets in an anti-government protest march that started from their neighborhood and headed towards Bardo city in Tunis. The demonstrators have particularly demanded the release of youths arrested by the police during the latest nightly protests where they had clashed with the security forces. The protesters also denounced the police brutality and the repression of the social protest movements that started in the country in mid-January and demanded 'dignity and freedom' for their neighborhood and protested against the marginalization and the economic and social crisis in the country.
