The Viareggio Carnival Postponed To September

People at work inside a warehouse where the allegorical floats are built. The Carnival of Viareggio was born in 1873 and nowadays is the largest Italian folk event. The rules for the prevention of Covid disease this year prevent the traditional parade of floats on Mardi Gras. The Cittadella of Viareggio in the days of the carnival is the nodal center of important events, but this year the sixteen Hangars, where the allegorical floats are built, are full of activity even though the parades have been postponed due to the pandemic of Covid-19.
