'Don't Touch My Forest': Die-in Against The Clear Cut Of Pyrenean Forests For A Giant Sawmill

during the die-in, a protester simulates a cut tree. Several associations, political parties and people united in a collective 'Touche pas a ma foret' (ie 'Don't touch my forest') called for a die-in in Toulouse in front of the townhall, the Capitole, to symbolize their opposition to a global firm, Florian. The sawmill company Florian wants to build a giant sawmill near the Pyrenean town of Lannemezan. The sawmill is expected to treat nearly 400.000 cubic meters of beech wood each year. For this, the Florian company will need to cut beech trees all over the French Pyrenees. It intends to clear cut forests. Protesters came from nearly all the French Pyrenees. Toulouse. France.
