Land Of Fires

The photo shows a former Bio-Compost Factory (Eurocompost) in Orta di Atella (Caserta) in Land of Fires "Terra dei Fuochi", 13 February 2020, opened with European funds but failed shortly afterwards, now used as an open-air landfill. The Naples North Public Prosecutor's Office (judicial headquarters in Aversa), together with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, has confirmed the conclusive report on the relationship between the presence of uncontrolled landfills on the territory of municipalities in the provinces of Naples and Caserta included in the so-called 'Terra dei Fuochi', and the onset of certain diseases, such as breast cancer, asthma, various forms of leukaemia and congenital malformations.
