Keerimalai Naguleswaram Hindu Temple In Sri Lanka
Keerimalai Naguleswaram Hindu Temple (Thirutambaleswaram Kovil of Keerimalai) located in Keerimalai, Sri Lanka. This temple is one of the oldest shrines of the region and was largely destroyed by Jesuit missionaries following the Portuguese conquest of the Jaffna kingdom. It was later restored by Arumuka Navalar in 1894 and was occupied by the Sri Lankan Army in 1983 and bombed by the Sri Lankan Air Force in 1993. The temple is now being restored.
