Reconstruction Following The Civil War In Sri Lanka
Re-construction of the Raja Gopuram at the Keerimalai Naguleswaram Hindu Temple in Keerimalai, Sri Lanka. This temple was bombed by the Sri Lankan Air Force in 1993 during the 26-year long civil war between the Sri Lankan Army and the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam). The United Nations estimates about 40,000 people were killed during the war. The temple is now being restored. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
