World Malaria Day In India
A female Anopheles mosquito (The carrier of the Malaria disease parasite plasmodium) drinks blood from the human body in Tehatta, West Bengal, India on 24 April 2021. Globally, 3.3 billion people in 106 countries are at risk of malaria. World Malaria Day (WMD) is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria. This year, WHO and partners will mark World Malaria Day by celebrating the achievements of countries that are approaching - and achieving - malaria elimination. Ahead of World Malaria Day, WHO will publish a new report highlighting successes and lessons learned among the ''E-2020'' group of malaria-eliminating countries. (Photo by Soumyabrata Roy/NurPhoto)
