Hasidic Jews Hold A Vehicle Parade For Lag BaOmer

Hasidic Jews hold a vehicle parade through a Jewish neighbourhood to celebrate Lag BaOmer (Lag B'Omer) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, during the COVID-19 pandemic on April 30, 2021. Lag BaOmer marks the anniversary of the death of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, a Mishnaic sage and leading disciple of Rabbi Akiva in the 2nd century, and the day on which he revealed the deepest secrets of kabbalah, a landmark text of Jewish mysticism. There are several customs and practices on Lag BaOmer, including the lighting of bonfires and pilgrimages to the tomb of Bar Yochai in Israel. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
