Czechs Want To Close The Polish Mine
Bucket excavators remove top layers of earth in order to reach the lignite coal lying underneath the Turow open-pit lignite coal mine on May 25, 2021 in Bogatynia, Poland. At the request of Chekhov, the European Union ordered Poland on May 25, 2021 to close hard coal mines in Turow. This is the only workplace for the inhabitants of this region. The miners are threatening strikes and will not give up their jobs. (Photo by Krzysztof Zatycki/NurPhoto)
