Thomas Brail, Trees Lover Who Fight For Their Conservation
Trunc base of an old beech tree in a forest near Mazamet. Thomas Brail is an arborist known for his fight for trees and forests. He begun to stay a few days on a plane tree to prevent its cutting. In 2019, he stayed 28 days in front of the French Ministry of Ecology to raise awareness against clearcutting in French forests. Thomas found a very recent clearcutting near Mazamet (Tarn), his town. A movement called GNSA (Groupe National de Surveillance des Arbres ie National Group for Trees Surveillance) was created. Now, more than 90 groups part of the GNSA exist across France to protect trees. Mazamet. France. May 30th 2021. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto)
