Extinction Rebellion Protest In Madrid

Extinction Rebellion gather in Madrid calling for ecocide to be recognised as an international crime in Madrid on 4th June, 2021. Extinction Rebellion activists gathered in Madrid on June 4 to call for ecocide to be recognised as an international crime. The climate protesters marched through the streets of the Spanish capital and blocked roads by lying down. Police officers were on hand to remove the activists that were blocking traffic. The Stop Ecocide campaign is aiming to make ecocide a universal crime under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Ecocide is criminalised human activity that substantially damages or destroys ecosystems, or harms the health and well-being of a species. (Photo by Juan Carlos Lucas/NurPhoto)
