Green Turtle Baby Release In Central Sulawesi

The release of the green turtle chick by the Bonebula Foundation and the Baturoko Mangrove Farmers Group is a education to local residents to be more friendly to the animals that make the coastal area their habitat. Six of the seven species of sea turtles in the world, including the Green Turtle, live in Indonesian waters as a habitat for foraging and breeding, or simply migrating from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean and vice versa. The number of green turtles has decreased from year to year. The main threats are hunting and trading of eggs and body parts, damage to nesting habitat due to development in coastal areas, and threats at sea from fishing activities.
