First Day Of The Constitutional Convention In Chile

First day of the constituent assembly took place. The session was suspended after the conventional constituents denounced the lack of minimum technical conditions to carry out the talks (Chairs, microphones, computers were missing, among others.) accusing the government of Sebastian Pinera of a lack of commitment to the constitutional convention. In the vicinity of the compound (former national congress), friends and relatives of the political prisoners of the social revolt, protested and demonstrated demanding the freedom of the Mapuche political prisoners, prisoners of the 2019 social uprising and justice for the victims of policial repression. A general pardon for political prisoners was the main issue to be discussed in the constituent assembly, which could not be carried out due to lack of minimum technical conditions.
