Daily life during a heatwave in the Greek city of Thessaloniki, as the country faces the second week of high temperatures, exceeding locally 40 degrees Celsius. The popular waterfront promenade of the town is almost deserted due to the hot weather with the temperature reaching 38°C only a few citizens and tourists are seen walking or cycling in the shadow. Greece recently relaxed the Covid-19 restrictions and measures to fight the pandemic as the public wear of facemask, a measure that is considered to return as there is a spike in cases with the Delta variant.
