On July 24, 2021, a severe thunderstorm with strong winds uprooted a canopy at a BP gas station in Madison Heights, Michigan while the same storm also brought major flooding and power outages throughout Metro-Detroit and a tornado touched down in Macomb County causing significant property damage.
