Pro-Khalistan Sikhs Protest Against The Indian Government

Canadian Pro-Khalistan Sikhs protest against the Indian government and call for a separate Sikh state called Khalistan in Malton, Ontario, Canada, on May 06, 2012. Thousands of Sikhs attended a Nagar Kirtan to celebrate Vaisakhi and to show their discontent with the Indian government. The Khalistan movement refers to a movement which seeks to create a separate Sikh state, called Khalistan in the Punjab region of India. The territorial definition of the proposed nation is disputed, with some believing it should be carved simply out of the Indian state of Punjab, where Sikhs are the majority population. The Khalistan movement has been declared a terrorist movement by the Government of India is illegal within India. (Photo by Creative Touch Imaging Ltd./NurPhoto)
