On August 16, the Philippines reported it's first case of Lambda Variant which is possibly more contagious variant and it can affect the COVID-19 shot. As of August 17, 2021, the Department Of Health reported 10,035 new cases of COVID-19 with total count of 1,765,675 cases with 30,462 deaths since the pandemic hit the Philippines.
