Polish Border Guards In Stand-off With Belarusian Counterparts Over Refugees At Border

Around 32 Afghan citizens are being held in place on the border by Polish border guards and Belarusian forces. The refugees are now pawns in a game between Lukashenko's regime who is expelling them forcefully over the border in retlation for EU sanctions and the Polish government which says it will protect Poland from illegal migrants.In the last weeks Belarusian authorities have been pushing an increasing number of refugees, mainly from Iraq over the borders of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
