Houston Pays Residents $100 Each To Get Vaccinated

As the Delta Variant spreads rapidly through Texas a new initiative in Houston incentivizes unvaccinated residents to get inoculated by awarding them each with one hundred dollars after their first injection. Houstonians lined up for miles on August 20th, 2021 at a temporary vaccination site near NRG Stadium to take advantage of the initiative. Those with out cars stood in the dangerous heat, a heat index upwards of 100 degrees fahrenheit, to hopefully get their vaccines and money. (Photo by Reginald Mathalone/NurPhoto)
