A few metres from the centre and in front of the new cinema in Amatrice, there is Piazza Sagnotti with the rubble of the council houses that have not yet been removed because a trial has been going on for five years. There are still personal effects and a panda completely destroyed and abandoned since 2016. An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the moment magnitude scale, hit Central ITaly on 24 August 2016. Its epicentre was close to Accumoli. Several town were destroyed, including Amatrice, Accumoli and Pescara del Tronto. (Photo by Riccardo Fabi/NurPhoto)
