Stop Genocide In Brazil Protest In London
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - AUGUST 25, 2021: Activists and campaigners joined by indigenous people from Brazil protest near Brazilian Embassy in solidarity with the Indigenous peoples of Brazil as the Bolsonaro's government attempts to further open up Indigenous lands to mining and other commercial activities that could exacerbate the destruction of the Amazon rainforest on 25 August 2021 in London, England. The protesters demonstrate against Congressional bill 490/2007, which would prevent Indigenous peoples from obtaining legal recognition of their traditional lands if they were not present there by the arbitrary 1988 cut-off date as Brazil's Supreme Court is scheduled to begin considering the legality of this so-called “time frame” argument.
