The National Zoo has opened its gates to visitors after a five-month closure due to Covid-19 pandemic. Visitors thronged to the popular weekend outing spot, located in Dhaka's Mirpur on August 27, 2021. The zoo over an area of 186 acres houses 135 species of animals. There are currently a total number of 3,150 animals, which was 2,740 just six months ago -- a significant increase due to the Covid-19 closure. (Photo by Sony Ramany/NurPhoto)
