Afghan Refugees On Polish Border
Polish Army Soldiers encircle a group of immigrants from Afghanistan at the Belarusian border and prevent their entry to the country in Usnarz Gorny, Poland on 27 August, 2021. The army and police stopped the migrants at the border and prevented them from proceeding into Poland, the army also refused access to asylum procedures, medical help and food. Journalists and charity workers are kept about 300 meteres away. Actions of the Polish government have been widely criticised. The Polish government also decided to build a fence to put a stop to an influx of migrants walking across the Belarus border. The border between Belarus and Poland is also the border of the European Union. Poland accuses the Lukashenko regime of orchestrating the transit of thousands of migrants from the Middle East to put pressure on the EU. (Photo by Dominika Zarzycka/NurPhoto)
