Soybean Imports To Indonesia Reached 2.11 Million Tons

Data from the Ministry of Agriculture, about 86.4% of soybean demand in Indonesia comes from imports. Until 2020 Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS-Statistics Indonesia) data, soybean imports to Indonesia are 2.11 million tons. The transaction value is US$ 842.7 million or around Rp 11.79 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 14,000 per US dollar). In that period, the largest imports of soybeans came from the US at 1.92 million tons with a value of 762.3 million US dollars, Canada 190,338 tons with a value of 77 million US dollars. Then from Malaysia as many as 6,342 tons with a value of 3 million US dollars, Argentina with 633 tons with a value of 277,081 US dollars, and France with a value of 120 tons with a value of 73,370 US dollars.
