SKY Express ATR 72-600 Departing From Athens

A new Sky Express ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft with registration SX-ELV as seen departing from Athens International Airport ATH LGAV. SkyExpress is Greek regional airline that is developing recently with modern fuel saving aircraft such as the ATR 72-600 which is ideal for the Greek island with the short runways for take off and landing and Airbus A320neo. On 9 and 10 September this aircraft flew from Athens to Dublin a 6 hours non stop flight, without passengers, exceeding its official range with passengers. Passenger traffic has declined due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic that affected the tourism and aviation industry. The world aviation passenger traffic numbers fell because of the travel restrictions and the safety measures such as lockdowns, quarantine, rapid and pcr tetsing etc due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic that hit hard the aviation industry.
