The government has eased provisions for restaurants, shopping malls and some industries to operate with longer hours and higher capacity as the daily COVID-19 reports point to a falling number of cases. In a trial run for restaurants outside of malls, meanwhile, around 1,000 outlets with enclosed space will reopen at 25 percent of their capacity in Surabaya, Jakarta, Bandung and Semarang. Meanwhile, according to statements by president Joko Widodo, Indonesia's 2022 economic growth is targeted in the range of 5 to 5.5 percent amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
