Canadian Study Finds Delta Variant 133% More Deadly Than Original COVID Strain

The results of a Canadian study was released a few days ago declaring that the Delta variant 133% more deadly than original COVID strain. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Toronto and published Tuesday in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, analyzed more than 212,000 cases of COVID-19 reported in Ontario between Feb. 7 and June 27, 2021.Among Delta cases, they found a 108 per cent increased risk for hospitalization, 235 per cent increased risk for ICU admission and 133 per cent increased risk for death compared to the original virus strain.
