Greenpeace Raises Awareness About TotalEnergie Strategy Of Influence
A Greenpeace member explains to passers-by why the play titled 'Guess where Total is hiding ?' . Greenpeace Toulouse organized a play in the center to raise awareness about the strategy of influence of the French oil major TotaEnergie (ex Total). TotalEnergie, they said, is influencing people about oil and fossil fuels as TotalEnergie subsidizes museums (Institut du Monde Arabe pe example), universities (such as HEC ) and so on. The play is to guess in which institutions TotalEnegie gives money. Greenpeace organized this play as fossil fuel industry gets subsidies of $11m a minute (the production and burning of coal, oil and gas was subsidised by $5.9tn in 2020) according to analysis by the International Monetary Fund on October 6th 2021.
