Metro Manila Eases Quarantine Classification

Residents of Metro Manila, Philippines are seen in public wearing protective gears against COVID-19 on October 16, 2021. The national government lowered the quarantine classification in National Capital Region to Alert Level 3 starting October 16 until October 31, 2021. 17 cities inside the National Capital Region are now classified as moderate risk for COVID-19. Last October 14, OCTA research group said that the reproduction rate in capital region dropped to 0.6 which leads the seven-day average cases submerged to 1,847, 30% lower than the past week. As of October 15, the country reported 7,621 new cases of COVID-19 with 2,705,792 total cases and total deaths of 40,424 since the pandemic hit the Philippines.
